In 1983, Mandy Carter, among other women, walked 600 miles from Durham, North Carolina to the Seneca Army Depot, joining hundreds of women at the Seneca Women's Peace Encampment to protest the scheduled deployment of Cruise and Pershing II missiles. As an employee of the War Resisters League, Mandy helped organize the Women's Peace Walk in service of moral conviction: ordinary people, especially those most often excluded from rooms of power, have both the right and the responsibility to demand a safer, more just, world.

This film traces the events of the walk, weaving archival photographs, video, and newspaper coverage with contemporary footage of Carter today. The decommissioned Depot itself becomes a haunting present-day landscape, where a herd of white deer roam amongst overgrown bunkers and fences.

By layering the historical record with living memory, the film makes the case that intersectional peace work is still of utmost importance.
